  1. I also heard the news. I am actually pretty excited that Idea Factory International is localizing the Amnesia visual novel game for North America. It will come with subtitles and all. Believe me. I am planning to get this on Steam once it releases. Making it my first ever purchase of a visual novel game. It really makes me happy to know I can get to play this too even if I do not live in Japan. If all goes well, hopefully, they can bring over Diabolik Lovers someday.

    • Ideal Factory really did want to bring Amnesia overseas, since before they began with the Neptunia franchise they were looking for partners to help with doing it along with Moero Chronicle. While isn’t official for western territories, that one is getting an Asian release with English subtitles, so with Amnesia, they do seem to be interested in breaking into the visual novel market for female fans. So it is quite possible (if sells are good) Diabolik Lovers might see a release here – even if only a digital one.

      • Thanks for the information. I know you seem to dabble more into video games than me, so it is nice to hear your perspective on this. I am happy to hear more visual novel games could become commonplace. I have secretly wanted this to happen for quite a while now. As for things being digital. I actually do not have any major game consoles right now so games on PC work best for me anyway.

        • Thank you. I just tend to keep up with a lot of news and notice trends, so dabbling would be correct, lol. With a lot of small indie developers getting there visual novels up on Steam and elsewhere, I believe that is galvanizing bigger names to follow suit, since it is introducing them to a larger market that they didn’t know existed. Likewise, a bunch of talent that wasn’t too keen on letting there works go westward are allowing it – maybe in part of seeing Steam’s success, so I do hope the trend continues myself. The more people they are able to reach across different platforms the better, and the more diverse product lineup we can hopefully see in the future.

  2. Pretty happy to see Idea Factory porting their Neptunia games to Steam. Did they said anything about bringing some of the Neptunia spin-offs to Steam?

    • Nothing yet. Once they finishing up with the Nep rebirth trilogy and Amnesia, that might be next step. I personally don’t see them getting to the spinoffs this year (especially Fairy Fencer F still to be announced), but if all goes well it is a possibility.
